Guide is what you might simply refer to as a 'Space Vampire'. He's not actually strictly a vampire and he's not even undead. In fact he's a humanoid-type creature with some bug ancestry and with a very specialized diet. Using an organ on his right palm, he can drain the life out of his victims. Doing so puts them through a process that appears to make the victim rapidly age until they are nothing but a dry husk. Although he is not malicious and does not kill for pleasure, he does need to feed or he will go mad once extreme hunger sets in.

This process is extremely traumatic and even a partial feeding may result in the victim dying anyway (although healing magic will probably help with that.) Unlike a typical blood sucking vampire, he cannot simply partially feed on someone and wait for them to recover. Once a person has the life sucked out of them, the process is permanent (unless they die and revive courtesy of Luceti). However, Guide's ability works in reverse and if he has an excess amount of life force, he can return it and rejuvenate his victim. He can also use this ability on his fallen allies and accelerate the body's natural regenerative abilities to the point he can revive the recent deceased. (This is of course limited by how long they've been dead and had oxygen cut off to their brain and the extent of the injuries.)

On top of that, Wraith are pretty strong creatures (super strength, rapid regeneration, etc) but what is of note is that they are natural born telepaths and typically use this to achieve a hive mind like state. As a ten thousand year old Wraith, his abilities are extremely refined with the touch of a master, though his telepathic powers are not immensely strong. He's no Charles Xavier.

- Wraith and human brain physiology are very different, so he can't read the minds of those without telepathic abilities. He can, however, read their emotions. (For example, in a poker game he'd know you were bluffing.) This should work on anyone unless for some reason they have an unusual brain or some sort of ability to block it.
- A telepath means an open conduit for Guide. He can read and access their mind with utter ease, unless they close it off to him. If they aren't used to this kind of thing, they might not even notice his presence. If they're inexperienced, he could potentially take over their mind (and body) this way. However this goes both ways and leaves him vulnerable to this as well.
- He can project images into the minds of anyone. Typically these are ghost-like entities that are designed to frighten and 'herd' humans. He's unlikely to ever need to use this ability.

So tell me this!

1. Is your character telepathic? If so, how easily can Guide access their thoughts or take control?

2. If not telepathic, can he read their emotions?

3. Are you willing to have your character killed for him to feed on? A partial feeding instead? (Note, he can only feed on humans or humanoids.)

4. Does your character possess some form of advanced rapid healing ability or an otherwise unlimited life force?

Although Guide will eventually manage to stabilize his diet by going on frequent missions to feed on cultists, there may be times where he may end up injured and needing to feed or otherwise unable to feed frequently enough. In which case, he'll need people he can feed on and potentially find someone who might provide and unlimited resource.
